12-Lead EKG Confidence: A Step-by-Step Guide

12-Lead EKG Confidence: A Step-by-Step Guide
Confidence: A Step-by-Step Guide
In this 12-Lead EKG Confidence: A Step-by-Step Guide  book  The step-by-step approach is easy to understand, and the practice EKGs at the end of each chapter help to solidify the information learned. What I like most about the book is that the chapters are short and the explanations are concise. The author does a great job of incorporating just what you need to know in the context of clinical correlates. After reading this book, EKGs are no longer overwhelming and I can approach them with confidence. If you read this book, you will be sure not to miss a beat! It is definitely a must-have for medical students and residents.
This 12-Lead EKG Confidence: A Step-by-Step Guide book is even better written than the first edition (which was probably the best EKG book I’ve read to begin with) and makes some concepts a little easier to understand such as getting a good appreciation for Axis, something that always gave me trouble.  It didn’t take long to see that this book is amazing in the level of detail it provides, yet is written in such an easy to understand way that it truly does build confidence. This book focuses on learning EKG concepts and actually getting to the bottom of what it all really means, (as opposed to other EKG books that focus on memorizing patterns with no real foundational comprehension.) I would recommend this book to any medical student or resident and assure you that it will make you confident in reading EKG’s.

Interventional Pericardiology: Pericardiocentesis, Pericardioscopy, Pericardial Biopsy, Balloon Pericardiotomy
Bernhard Maisch, Arsen D. Ristic, Petar M. Seferovic, Teresa S. M. Tsang, "Interventional Pericardiology: Pericardiocentesis, Pericardioscopy, Pericardial Biopsy, Balloon Pericardiotomy, and Intrapericardial Therapy"
Spr...er | 2011-06-27 | ISBN: 3642113346 | 206 pages | PDF | 4,8 MB

Interventional Pericardiology gives a unique and comprehensive view on an often neglected but clinically very important part of cardiovascular disease: The pericardium and the adjacent myocardium or epicardium. The authors of this up-to-date compendium on pericardial disease etiology, diagnostics and treatment, Professors Bernhard Maisch (Marburg), Arsen Ristić (Belgrade), Petar Seferović (Belgrade) and Teresa Tsang (Rochester) focus on recent advances to the new window that has been opened to the heart by flexible and video-assisted pericardioscopy, modern biochemical, immunohistological and molecular tools for the analysis of epicardial and pericardial biopsies, which have been acquired safely under pericardioscopic control by the interventional pericardiologist. Their book adds brand-new information to the recent and so far only guidelines world-wide by the European Society of Cardiology on the management of pericardial diseases. This task-force has been chaired by the lead author B. Maisch. Accordingly “Interventional Pericardiology” belongs in every medical library and on the desk of every cardiologist, cardiological interventionalist, and trainee with an interest in pericardial diseases.

Textbook of Real-Time Three Dimensional Echocardiography

Textbook of Real-Time Three Dimensional Echocardiography
Publisher: Springer | 2010 | ISBN: 1849964947 1849964955 | PDF | 198 pages | 10.6 MB

This Textbook will give the reader a detailed understanding of the use of 3D echo covering a wide range of topics; from the evolution of RT3D echo to the role of RT3D echo in drug trials, including chapters on the Principles of Transthoracic and Transesophageal Real-time 3D echocardiography. Other books in this area are more varied, less specific.
From the Back Cover
Tremendous improvements in ultrasound technology have led to development of one of the most impressive advancements in the use of ultrasound to assess cardiac morphology and function: three-dimensional echocardiography (3DE). During the last decade, 3DE has made a dramatic transition from a predominantly research tool used in few large academic medical centers to a technology available in most echocardiography laboratories, cardiac surgery operating rooms and catheterization and/or electrophysiology labs to address everyday clinical practice and guide interventional procedures. 3DE is now an established technique able to provide intuitive recognition of cardiac structures from any spatial point of view and complete information about absolute heart chamber volumes and function. In particular, 3DE has demonstrated its superiority over current echocardiographic modalities in a number of clinical applications. The Textbook of Real-Time Three Dimensional Echocardiography is intended to provide a comprehensive overview of the normal anatomy of the heart as seen by this new revolutionary ultrasound technique, and focusing on the clinical value of transthoracic 3DE and on the expanding role of transesophageal 3DE in guiding and monitoring surgical and interventional procedures. For echocardiographers who already use 3DE, the more advanced applications of 3DE are presented in detail. For those looking to learn 3DE, the Editors and their contributors have provided hundreds of images and videos in an that show the added clinical value of 3D imaging of cardiac structures. This textbook is therefore written not only for cardiologists specifically involved in the imaging of patients but also for general cardiologists, since it offers a wider clinical view of normal and pathological cardiac anatomy.

On Bypass: Advanced Perfusion Techniques (Current Cardiac Surgery)

Linda B. Mongero, James R. Beck, "On Bypass: Advanced Perfusion Techniques (Current Cardiac Surgery)"
Humana Press | 2008 | ISBN: 1588296369 | 580 pages | PDF | 20,1 MB

With the introduction of cardiac surgery more than five decades ago and the use of the heart-lung machine for open heart surgical procedures granting the surgeon unlimited time in which to operate inside the heart, a complex task has been given to the Perfusionist. With a pairing of a perfusionist and a surgeon for each chapter, On Bypass: Advanced Perfusion Techniques is an essential collection of techniques and protocols to aid in the difficult and immediate decision making in the operating room. Among the topics covered in this comprehensive text are pediatric perfusion techniques for complex congenital, separation from cardiopumonary bypass, blood flow during cardiopumonary bypass, and minimally invasive perfusion techniques. Also covered is ultrafiltration in cardiac surgery, echocardiography and cardiopulmonary bypass, and advances in long-term pulmonary support. With nearly 650,000 procedures requiring cardiopulmonary bypass and a perfusionist, On Bypass: Advanced Perfusion Techniques answers the need for a textbook that investigates advanced perfusion techniques that are currently being practiced.
