Barron's new GRE manual offers intensive practice and review for all question types plus a diagnostic test and two full-length model GREs with answer keys and explanations for all questions answered. The authors also present a test overview and valuable chapters on test-taking tactics.

Pro ASP.NET 2.0 E-Commerce in C# 2005 (Expert's Voice in .NET)

Pro ASP.NET 2.0 E-Commerce in C# 2005 (Expert's Voice in .NET)
Publisher: Apress | 2006 | ISBN: 1590597249 | Pages: 640 | PDF | 15,02 MB

ASP.NET 2.0 has seen significant market-share increases over the six months since its launch. It has rapidly established itself as one of the most powerful and popular technologies for creating web-applications, as demonstrated by the success of other Apress books in this area (Pro ASP.NET 2.0, 1-59059-496-7, and Beginning ASP.NET 2.0 E-Commerce, 1-59059-468-1). E-Commerce is an important area of commercial application development, and one that can only grow in popularity as the .NET 2.0 technology matures. Apress is the market leader in this area, offering a wide range of successful books for web application developers.

This book compliments our Beginning ASP.NET 2.0 E-Commerce book, to provide professional developers with the skills they need to create high-quality bespoke e-commerce systems to their customer’s requirements. The book assumes no prior knowledge of e-commerce, although it does assume a working familiarity with ASP.NET 2.0. At the current time, there are no other books available for developers that address this issue on the .NET 2.0 Platform.

The current authors have developed and extended this foundation to produce a thoroughly modern textbook of orthopaedic surgery, bringing complementary expertise while retaining the book's characteristic philosophy and approach. They are joined by a selection of expert contributors from around the world, who add material on a wide variety of subjects including radiology, open fractures, neuromuscular disorders, and inflammatory arthropathies.

The Play framework is the new kid on the block of Java frameworks. By breaking with existing standards the play framework tries not to abstract away from HTTP as most web frameworks do, but tightly integrates with it. This means quite a shift for Java programmers. Understanding these concepts behind the play framework and its impact on web development with Java are crucial for fast development of applications.

The Play Framework Cookbook starts where the beginner documentation ends. It shows you how to utilize advanced features of the Play framework – piece by piece and completely outlined with working applications!

The reader will be taken through all layers of the Play Framework and provided with in-depth knowledge from as many examples and applications as possible. Leveraging the most from the Play framework means to think simple again in a java environment. Implement your own renderers, integrate tightly with HTTP, use existing code, improve site performance with caching and integrate with other web services and interfaces. Learn about non-functional issues like modularity or integration into production and testing environments. In order to provide the best learning experience during reading Play Framework Cookbook, almost every example is provided with source code, so you can start immediately to integrate recipes into your own play applications.

The Garuda Purana By Ernest Wood And S.V. Subrahmanyam

The Garuda Purana
By Ernest Wood And S.V. SubrahmanyamThis is a translation of an abridged version of the Garuda Purana. The Garuda Purana is one of the Vishnu Puranas. It is in the form of a dialog between Vishnu and Garuda, the King of Birds. The second section of this Purana (given here) deals with issues connected with death, particularly funeral rites and the metaphysics of reincarnation. Portions of the Garuda Purana are used by some Hindus as funeral liturgy. Indeed, some consider it unlucky to read this text except during funerals.Of interest are the intermediate states between birth and rebirth, which roughly correspond to the western concepts of Hell and Heaven. Since this was written during the medieval era, it is possible that the writer of this text had contact with Christianity. Earlier Hindu texts do not elaborate about 'hell' and 'heaven,' at least not to this extent, and the subject is completely absent in the oldest texts. Here, the torments of Hell are described in terms that would not be out of place in a Baptist revival tent (or Dante, for that matter). In addition, the four-square city of Yama, the God of Death, is reminiscent of the heavenly city in Revelation. However, these are way stations between incarnations (or, as termed in the Tibetan Book of the Dead, Bardos), not a permanent destination. The Garuda Purana starts with the details of the afterlife. Following this is an account of funeral procedures, including rituals, the astrological timing of the post-death observances, and ritual gifts. Balancing the extended vision of Hell in the earlier part of the document is a shorter account of the City of Yama. After that is an enumeration of correspondences between the macrocosmos and the human body. The final part of this text is an appeal to self-knowledge as the key to liberation, going beyond austerities and study of the texts. "The fool, not knowing that the truth is seated in himself, is bewildered by the Shastras,--a foolish goatherd, with the young goat under his arm, peers into the well."--J.B. Hare --This text refers to the Kindle Edition edition. For additional information on publishing your books on iPhone send your email to apps@credencys.comOf interest are the intermediate states between birth and rebirth, which roughly correspond to the western concepts of Hell and Heaven. Analgesia, Anaesthesia and Pregnancy: A Practical Guide, 2nd Edition

Steve Yentis, Anne May, Surbhi Malhotra, "Analgesia, Anaesthesia and Pregnancy: A Practical Guide, 2nd Edition"
Cambridge University Press | 2007-06-11 | ISBN: 0521694744 | 414 pages | PDF | 1,2 MB

A thoroughly updated edition of this well-established practical guide to obstetric analgesia and anaesthesia originally published by W. B. Saunders. All aspects of obstetric medicine relevant to the anaesthetist are covered, from conception, throughout pregnancy, to after birth care. The emphasis is on pre-empting problems and maximising quality of care. The authors have identified over 150 potential complications each covered in two sections: issues raised and management options, with key points extracted into boxes for quick reference. A section on organisational aspects such as record keeping, training, protocols and guidelines makes this an important resource for any labour ward or hospital dealing with pregnant women. Presented in a clear, structured format, this book will be invaluable to trainee anaesthetists at all levels and to experienced anaesthetists who encounter obstetric patients. Obstetricians, neonatologists, midwives, nurses and operating department practitioners wishing to extend or update their knowledge will also find it highly beneficial.

Big Ecology: The Emergence of Ecosystem Science

David C. Coleman, "Big Ecology: The Emergence of Ecosystem Science"
Un rsity of Calif rnia Pre ss | 2010 | ISBN: 0520264754 | 248 pages | PDF | 2 MB

In Big Ecology, David C. Coleman documents his historically fruitful ecological collaborations in the early years of studying large ecosystems in the United States. As Coleman explains, the concept of the ecosystem--a local biological community and its interactions with its environment--has given rise to many institutions and research programs, like the National Science Foundation's program for Long Term Ecological Research. Coleman's insider account of this important and fascinating trend toward big science takes us from the paradigm of collaborative interdisciplinary research, starting with the International Geophysical Year (IGY) of 1957, through the International Biological Program (IBP) of the late 1960s and early 1970s, to the Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) programs of the 1980s.
